1. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 16,39,552 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The toll from the disease stands at 35,800.
2. Group of Ministers on COVID-19 meets on Friday On Friday, at the Group of Ministers, there will be a presentation on what can be again opened up for COVID-19-related exports, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said.
3. SC hearing on university exams before September 30  The University Grants Commission has defended its Revised Guidelines mandating all the universities across the country to finish their final year exams before September 30, 2020. The hearing in the apex court would be conducted on July 31, 2020.
4. NIA court to hear bail plea of Sudha Bharadwaj in Elgar Parishad case Sudha Bharadwaj was arrested on August 28, 2018 and has been in jail for almost two years on charges under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in the Bhima Koregaon case.
5. AAP to protest on Friday against Punjab move to give plasma to private hospitals at 'astronomical' rate The party's State unit president and Lok Sabha member Bhagwant Mann on Thursday said the absurd and anti-people decisions of the state and central governments were forcing people to take to the streets amid the coronavirus pandemic.
6. SC hearing on trial of foreigners in Tablighi Jamaat case The Supreme Court has asked Centre as to what can be done to expedite the trials against the foreign nationals, who attended the Markaz Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Nizamuddin in March this year.
7. Puducherry Cabinet to decide on Friday on extension of lockdown beyond July 31  Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Thursday accused the Centre of continuing to remain 'silent' on the territorial government's requests for funds to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic and said the situation was being managed by using its own funds.
8. Karnataka Common Entrance Test The two-day examinations on Thursday and Friday are being conducted at the 497 centres across Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan said.
9. Gautam Gambhir announces plan to support daughters of GB Road sex workers  The initiative, 'PAANKH', to take care of 25 minor daughters of sex workers of Delhi will be launched on Friday, the cricketer-turned-politician said in a statement.
