1) Coronavirus | latest numbers and developments
The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India is 5,85,774 with the death toll at 17,403. New guidelines released under the Unlock 2.0 policy by the Union Home Ministry come into effect today.
2) National Doctors Day
India celebrates National Doctors Day on July 1 each year, on the birth and death anniversary of physician and second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Several national leaders and prominent figures have expressed gratitude to the doctors on the frontlines of the Covid-19 battle in India. West Bengal has declared a State holiday.
3) Rahul Gandhi's conversation with 4 nurses working on the frontlines to combat COVID-19
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's conversation with four Indian nurses working in New Zealand, Australia, the U.K. and India will be aired on Wednesday during which they will share their experience of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
4) Railways to expand to 350 local trains in Mumbai from today
Essential staff including those of Centre, IT, defence, Raj Bhavan allowed. No general passengers yet  Passangers board suburban local train at Mumbai Central on Western Railway on Monday, June 15.
5) New rules for financial transactions kick in
Several changes will kick in for financial transactions from today including PF rules, ATM withdrawal charges, Atal Pension Yojana, registration in Kisan Samman Nidhi, mutual funds, and minimum account balance, among others.
6) AAP to hold countrywide protest against hike in fuel prices
The Aam Aadmi Party will hold a countrywide protest on Wednesday against the hike in petrol and diesel prices, party leader Gopal Rai said.
7) Israel likely to begin annexing parts of the West Bank
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that discussions with the U.S. on his plan to annex occupied West Bank territory would continue in the coming days, indicating he would miss a July 1 target date for beginning the controversial process.

9) Odisha allows over-the-counter sale of liquor
The liquor shops across the State will remain open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a notification issued by the Excise Department on Tuesday.
10) Melbourne to lock down suburbs
Australia's second-largest city will lock down dozens of suburbs for a month from Wednesday night in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus.
