Mississippi is changing its flag, Trump retweeted a supporter yelling "white power," and the NYPD clashed with protesters at Pride.

THE BIG STORY   Mississippi lawmakers passed a bill to remove the Confederate symbol from the state flag    The bill calls for the emblem to be removed from the current flag and for the creation of a nine-member commission to design a new one that cannot include the Confederate battle emblem, but should include the phrase "In God We Trust." Gov. Tate Reeves said Saturday that he will sign a bill to change the flag, adding that the argument over the flag had become "as divisive as the flag itself and it's time to end it." The state's flag has come under renewed criticism in the wake of racial injustice protests across the nation. Rogelio V. They lived with their children in suburban brick houses and with their mothers off dusty backroads. They were Black, white, Latino, and Pacific Islander. They hailed from the Southeast to the North Pacific.   Since 2015, police in the US have not gone more than two days without fatally shooting someone. The day of Floyd's death was only in its second hour when police registered the first killing of the day. A White House spokesperson said the president "did not hear" the "white power" call when he had initially shared the video. Seventeen corrections officers will face disciplinary action over the death of a trans woman in solitary confinement. "THE PERFECT STORM FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO JUST FIGHT"    Parents are using "social distancing contracts" to emotionally control their ex-partners   The fear of COVID-19 has introduced a new legal maneuver for warring separated parents to fight with each other over: the social distancing contract. Family lawyers tell BuzzFeed News that many separated parents are using the pandemic as an excuse to try to place further restrictions on their exes, including social distancing contracts and other changes to custody agreements.   While the aims of such contracts sound honorable, as a way to help public health or protect children, their existence can also be used to emotionally abuse the other parent, according to lawyers.    One Brooklyn mother of two told BuzzFeed News her ex-husband sent a proposed court order stipulating that she must abide by all New York state rules regarding social distancing, not attend any nonessential gatherings, and not have any visitors while their children are with her. THEY FINALLY GOOGLED THE GUY THEY NAMED A SCHOOL AFTER   Princeton is renaming its school and college named after Woodrow Wilson because of his racist policies   Princeton University in New Jersey announced Saturday that it will drop former US president Woodrow Wilson's name from its School of Public and International Affairs and Wilson College because of his racist views and segregationist policies.   The university's board of trustees voted to change the names Friday, after the trustees concluded that Wilson's "racist thinking and policies make him an inappropriate namesake for a school or college whose scholars, students, and alumni must stand firmly against racism in all its forms."
