1) Coronavirus| Latest numbers The number of coronavirus cases in India stands at 131,385 with the death toll at 3,869.
2) Tense situation continues on LAC between India and China India is “closely monitoring the situation and taking appropriate steps,” sources said a day after Army Chief General Manoj Naravane visited the Leh based 14 Corps headquarters to review the “overall situation on the ground,” even as reports indicated Chinese troops remain in areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh that are patrolled by India.
3) Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre to reopen Sunday “Starting on Sunday 24th this most Holy Place will be accessible again to the faithful for visits and prayers,” leaders of the three denominations that share the site said in a statement on Saturday. They said measures will be enforced to “avoid the risk of a new spread of the COVID-19 infection”.
4) TN salons, beauty parlours to open from Sunday, except Chennai Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Saturday said barber shops and beauty parlours in all municipal areas barring areas falling under Greater Chennai Corporation can start functioning from May 24 onwards. He said that the premises should be sanitised five times a day and social distancing has to be maintained.
5) Complete lockdown in Bengaluru on Sunday There will be a complete lockdown on Sunday in the city, with all shops and commercial establishments closed. In a video message on Saturday, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner B.H. Anil Kumar said the conditions and restrictions on Sunday will be similar to that under coronavirus lockdown 1.0.
6) Amphan | W.B. asks Railways not to send Shramik Special trains to State till May 26 West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked the Railway Ministry not to send Shramik Special trains to the State till May 26 in view of Cyclone Amphan.
7) Saudi declares Eid al-Fitr to start on Sunday The Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, will begin on Sunday in Saudi Arabia, authorities in the kingdom said. Religious authorities in Jerusalem, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Libya and Lebanon also said that Eid would begin on Sunday.
8) Odisha govt allows home delivery of liquor The Odisha government has allowed home delivery of liquor from Sunday. However, it would cost a bit higher than the maximum retail price, as the state government has introduced a 'special Covid fee’ on sale of liquor.
9) Railways to run 2,600 Shramik trains in next 10 days The Indian Railways on Saturday said it will run an additional 2,600 Shramik Special trains in the next ten days as per the needs of the State governments. This is likely to benefit 36 lakh stranded migrants across the country, Railway Board Chairman V K Yadav said.

11) AAI meeting to discuss flight operations in Chennai on Sunday Departures are likely to resume at the Chennai airport on Monday, while arrival operations may be postponed, State government officials have indicated to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). A meeting to discuss flight operations will be held on May 24. AAI officials said there will be more clarity on the testing and quarantine procedures after the meeting.
