1) Coronavirus | Latest numbers
The number of positive cases reported in India stands at 37,104 with 1,214 fatalities. The national lockdown has been extended till May 17.
2) Coronavirus | ‘Shramik Special’ trains ferry lockdown-hit stranded migrants
Migrant train reached Ranchi late on Friday. Uttarakhand government to start the process on Saturday.
3) Coronavirus | U.P. migrant workers will be brought from Rajasthan and Gujarat on Saturday
More than 4 lakh people have been brought from Delhi, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh so far.
4) Coronavirus | AMU asks its students to return home
AMU Registrar Abdul Hamid said that initially, students from within Uttar Pradesh can return home on Friday and Saturday while travel arrangements for those from other states, including Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand will be made by their states in the coming days.
5) Coronavirus | Delhi govt to ask Centre to classify zones on ward basis for national capital | 40 buses sent to Kota, students to return to Delhi by Saturday
In a zone-wise classification of districts in the country, the Union Health Ministry has designated all 11 districts of Delhi as red zone. The city has 272 wards.
6) Coronavirus | Delhi's LNJP Hospital’s kitchen to commence operations from today
The decision to resume the kitchen was taken after 55 people at the hospital, who came in contact with a coronavirus-positive dietician, tested negative for COVID-19. In the first test, they had tested negative but a second confirmatory test was conducted, the report of which also came negative.
7) Coronavirus | China lowers Hubei Province’s emergency response level
China will lower its COVID-19 emergency response from the highest level to the second-highest in Hubei Province and its capital Wuhan, the epicentre of the deadly virus outbreak on Saturday.
8) Coronavirus | RBI Governor to hold meeting with bank chiefs today
The meeting will take stock of implementation of several steps announced by the RBI, including moderation in interest rate and its transmission, as well as liquidity infusion measures to support the industry.
