Here are the latest updates and the big news stories to follow today:   Coronavirus | Number of cases in India cross 15,000, and deaths 500 In a major spike in COVID-19 cases, the Indian Council of Medical Research reported that a total of 16,365 individuals have now been confirmed positive in the country. On Saturday till 9 p.m., 2,154 persons (the highest in a single day) were found positive for SARS-CoV-2.    Coronavirus | Trump backs lockdown protests as U.S. surpasses 700,000 coronavirus cases U.S. President Donald Trump issued calls to “liberate” Michigan, Minnesota and Virginia in a series of tweets, which were quickly rebuked by the Democratic leaders of all three states.   Coronavirus | Shift non-coronavirus patients from dedicated hospitals by Sunday: Delhi govt Chief Secretary Vijay Dev directed the divisional commissioner and the health secretary to ensure that non COVID-19 patients receive seamless treatment and are not ignored by healthcare service providers, an official said. He also instructed them to evacuate all non-COVID-19 patients from COVID-19 dedicated hospitals by April 19.   Coronavirus | Delhi to start testing with rapid test kits in containment zones from Sunday "The Delhi government today received 42,000 rapid testing kits (from central government). We will start testing using these kits in containment zones from tomorrow," Health Minister Satyendar Jain said.   Coronavirus | South Korea virus cases maintain downward trend While saying that a quick return to pre-COVID-19 normalcy would be impossible, South Korea's Vice-Health Minister Kim Gang-lip  said officials as early as Sunday could announce essential parts of a new guideline that would replace the country’s weeks-long social distancing campaign.   Coronavirus | Dulquer Salmaan to meet fans virtually to raise funds for Chennai Dulquer shared the instructions on his Instagram account for people to donate.
