1) Coronavirus | Latest numbers The number of COVID-19 positive cases reported in India stands at 26,249 with 825 fatalities. According to the Ministry, India’s death rate was around 3.1% and the recovery rate more than 20%, which, it claimed, was “comparatively better” than most other countries.
2) Coronavirus | Mann ki Baat likely to focus on COVID-19 situation PM Narendra Modi will address the nation on the 64th edition of Mann ki Baat at 11 a.m. on Sunday. “Have been getting several insightful inputs for this month's #MannKiBaat. Do tune at 11 am tomorrow," the Prime Minister tweeted on Saturday.
3) Coronavirus | Total lockdown in six T.N. cities The Inter-Ministerial Central Team to assess the ground situation due to the coronavirus pandemic in Tamil Nadu began it's three-day visit to Chennai on Saturday. A plea has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking quashing of the complete lockdown.
4) Coronavirus | U.P. starts bringing back workers Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi said the first batch of workers was brought back in 82 buses from Haryana on Saturday, and 11,000 workers will return by Sunday. All the workers will be kept in a 14-day quarantine.
5) Coronavirus | Odisha govt allows opening of standalone and neighbourhood shops In an order issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department and signed by Chief Secretary A K Tripathy, the government said the municipal commissioners and district collectors are expected to notify the detailed list of the types of shops that will be allowed to open and their timings within their respective jurisdictions.
6) Coronavirus | Shops in Gujarat allowed to open from Sunday, but not in malls The state government also allowed IT and ITeS (IT enabled services) companies to start their operations from Sunday with 50 per cent of staff capacity, provided they are located outside the containment zone, the official said.
7) Coronavirus | Chandan Jatra, Akshaya Tritiya to be held on temple premises in Puri on Sunday Akshaya Tritiya is held at the Rath Khala outside the temple while the Chandan Jatra is organised in a tank in Puri.
8) Coronavirus | Spain eases total ban on letting kids outside In Spain, with the easing of lockdown restrictions on Saturday, children prepare to go outside for the first time in six weeks, with the government allowing one hour of supervised outdoor activity per day.
9) Coronavirus | Israel to reopen businesses as lockdown partially eases Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement, “Establishments on public roads that were still closed, some already opened five days ago, such as barbershops, hairdressers and beauty salons will be able to reopen as of Sunday, whereas shopping centres will have to keep remain closed”.
