TGIF, QuickTake readers!  Amid the worry and uncertainty about coronavirus across the globe, we wanted to end the week on a lighter note. Here are 10 uplifting stories from the past week.

1. The race has started to find a coronavirus vaccine in record time. 45 volunteers signed up for the first human trial; a process that could last 18 months.

2. Australia is helping the elderly avoid panic buying. Grocery stores are giving the elderly an hour in the mornings to do their shopping.

3. Grammy-winning artist Lecrae gives out portable sinks to the homeless. The artist and non-profit Love Beyond Walls distributed the stations in areas of Atlanta with a high number of homeless people.

4. The washing hands dance. Police officers in India made a viral video to teach proper hygiene amid the coronavirus outbreak.

5. #RezemosJuntos. Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer was lit up with flags and messages of hope for countries affected by the coronavirus.

6. U.S. utility companies promise to keep water flowing. Over 100 companies agreed to not cut off water in homes that fail to pay their bills during the virus crisis.

7. Musicians give us self-isolation concerts. Coldplay's Chris Martin, Keith Urban, Pink and John Legend connected with their fans stuck inside by live-streaming jam sessions on Instagram.

8.  This 10-minute testing kit could be a game changer. A Senegalese research institute is developing coronavirus testing kits that can be manufactured for $1.

9. Nintendo's newest game promises digital diversion. Animal Crossing offers an island getaway for millions of quarantined gamers.

10.  Something to smile about. 4 of the 5 happiest countries in the world are in Scandinavia, with Finland coming in first place.
