1) Interlocutors to continue talks with Shaheen Bagh protesters
Advocates Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran as well as former bureaucrat Wajahat Habibullah went to Shaheen Bagh, the epicentre of the anti-CAA protests, to speak to the women and attempt to find a way out of the impasse. Justice Mualidhar, who had delivered many significant judgements, was third in order of seniority at the High Court. 4) COVID-19 | ASEAN emergency meeting today China’s top diplomat assured his Southeast Asian counterparts on Wednesday that the situation in a central Chinese province where the outbreak of a new virus began has been brought under effective control. 5) HC reserves order on Sanjeev Chawla’s plea challenging remand A single judge bench of the high court presided by Justice Anu Malhotra after hearing detailed arguments of both the sides reserved the order for pronouncement today. 6) Jadavpur University Students Union elections results on Thursday The ABVP and the SFI contested 40 posts each in the two faculties, including those of class representatives. The AISA and the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) were also in the fray.
