With the US stock markets closed on New Year’s Day, today, January 2nd was the first day of trading for 2020 and AAPL has continued its steady growth and crossed the $300 mark, reaching a new all-time high. A few suggestions for tech new year's resolutions
Ben Lovejoy - 10:54 am EST

Back in 2015, I asked if you had any tech new year’s resolutions, and made a few suggestions:

  • Make the transition to a paperless life
  • Have a digital clear-out
  • Commit to Inbox Zero
  • Properly protect your digital life
  • Treat yourself to a new toy

All of those are still relevant today, but I thought I would make some fresh suggestions this year…

Michael Potuck - 10:48 am EST

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff came up with the idea of calling the company’s software ecosystem “AppStore” after a meeting with Steve Jobs in 2003, years before the iPhone or Apple’s App Store launched. Home app concept imagines a fully-flexible layout, more streamlined control
Ben Lovejoy - 8:44 am EST

A Home app concept posted on Behance pulls off a difficult trick: combining power and flexibility with ease of use.

Apple has done its best to walk that line, devices appearing as simple on/off buttons while a long-press reveals more powerful controls. For lights, for example, you can tap a button to toggle it on or off, and long-press to control the brightness or color – as well as to do things like assigning it to a different room…

Sketchy report claims not one but two 'iPhone 9' models this year
Ben Lovejoy - 7:17 am EST

Digitimes report claims that Apple is working on not just one but two different models of its replacement for the iPhone SE, which may be branded the iPhone 9.

While the iPhone SE 2 label has been widely used as shorthand for the replacement entry-level iPhone expected to be launched this year, we’re not expecting it to look anything like the slab-sided compact iPhone SE. Instead, we’re expecting it to essentially be an iPhone 8 with updated internals – and one recent report suggested it might be called the iPhone 9
