Apple asks Trump administration for tariff relief on iPhone parts, AirPods, Apple Watch after last denial

Apple has officially asked for more exemptions on tariffs that went into effect in Septemeber as part of the US-China trade war. As reported by Bloomberg, Apple’s latest formal requests seek another round of exemptions, this time for iPhone components, AirPods, Apple Watch, and more from the current 15% duties.

NBC's upcoming Apple TV+ competitor Peacock may be free with ads

We first heard about NBCUniversal’s upcoming streaming service, Peacock, back in September. We learned some initial details from The Hollywood Reporter but there wasn’t any information about pricing. Now it seems that NBC is considering making the service free for all with ads that could help as it’s set to compete with Apple TV+ and Disney+.

Adobe Creative Cloud app updated with free custom fonts for iOS 13 and iPadOS

Adobe today updated its Creative Cloud app with great new features for iOS 13 and iPadOS users, including Dark Mode compatibility and free custom fonts through the official API. With iOS 13, Apple is officially supporting font installation and management on iPhone and iPad, and it works system-wide.

Deep Fusion differences sometimes subtle, but really show up in pet photos

iOS 13.2 landed earlier this week, bringing with it Deep Fusion, the feature Apple’s marketing chief described in the iPhone 11 keynote as ‘computational photography mad science.’ (Less happily, it also seemed to introduce problems with background apps.)

Like Smart HDR, Deep Fusion blends multiple frames to create the best possible composite image. But while Smart HDR is limited to blending different exposures, some designed to capture shadow areas, others to pull in highlights, Deep Fusion also aims to bring out more detail…

Huawei's leaked 'MatePad Pro' looks like an iPad Pro with a punch-hole camera

Leaker Evan Blass has posted images of what he says is Huawei’s upcoming tablet, which will reportedly be known as the MatePad Pro.

The device bears a remarkable resemblance to the iPad Pro, with thinnish bezels and rounded display corners, while the keyboard appears to look almost identical to Apple’s Smart Keyboard Folio bar minor differences in key markings…

Complaints of iOS 13.2 killing background apps, 'doesn't multitask any more'

There are multiple complaints of iOS 13.2 killing background apps ‘so aggressively that iOS effectively doesn't offer multitasking anymore.’ The latest iOS update was released on Monday, adding Deep Fusion, new emoji, Siri privacy settings and more.

Apple TV+ is now live in the TV app: Start watching Apple's original TV shows and movies

After months of waiting, Apple’s TV streaming service Apple TV+ is now live. You can start watching on any platform that offers the Apple TV app, from iPhone to iPad to Apple TV and support non-Apple devices, as well as on the web at tv.apple.com.

Apple’s TV offering provides no back catalog of content, instead focusing on exclusive originals. Apple is launching with a library of nine titles, with a couple more announced to release over the next few weeks. Apple TV+ costs $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year. However, many users will be able to take advantage of Apple’s promotional deal to get one year for free…

Instagram shutting down third-party app that tried to mimic the removed 'Following' tab

Earlier this month, Instagram removed its controversial 'Following' tab. Once the feature was removed, a third-party app aiming to duplicate the functionality quickly rose to popularity. Instagram is now shutting down that application.
