34 presumed dead

TicToc Tonight
Bloomberg

Greetings, TicToc readers. Welcome back from the long weekend. Here's what to know this Tuesday:

But first...

34 presumed dead in boat fire

The Coast Guard has called off a search for survivors after recovering 20 bodies from a boat fire in Santa Barbara County, California. Fourteen people are still missing, police said. The fire spread as its occupants, a group of scuba divers, were sleeping below deck.

$ignificant figures

328: That's how many members of Parliament voted to wrest control of Brexit negotiations from Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

70%: That's how much of the Bahamas is underwater after Hurricane Dorian hit the island with record force.

$300,000: That's the value of loot stolen by these armed robbers in Australia.

Highly quotable

"I wish my honorable friend all the best." Boris Johnson lost his majority in Parliament as MP Dr. Phillip Lee defected from the Conservative Party to the Liberal Democrats.

"It's clear to us that the status quo is unacceptable." Walmart announced it will stop selling some assault-style rifle bullets.

"I just had hundreds of needles shoved into my face." We tried this high-tech 'microneedle' facial treatment.
