Apple announces expected iPhone 11 event for September 10: 'By innovation only'

Save the date. Apple has officially announced its next big event for Tuesday, September 10, where we expect to see the iPhone 11 revealed. This date lines up with the rumored event date based on a leaked asset in iOS 13 beta earlier this month.

The ‘By innovation only’ event will take place at Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, at 10 am PT/1 pm ET. We also expect Apple to share updates on iOS 13, Apple Watch, Apple TV+ and Arcade, and much more.

Plex partners with movie studio to offer 'package' of free streaming films

Plex announced today that it has reached an agreement with Warner Bros. to make a collection of feature films available to Plex users for free. This means that you'll soon be able to access a "package of feature film titles" from Warner Bros. via the Plex application on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and more.

iPhone faces 15% tariffs from December as Trump carries out tweeted threat

iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks will now face a 15% tariff from December, up from the 10% previously announced. Additionally, the 25% tariff set to hit desktop Macs, AirPods, Watch, and more on September 1 will now be increased to 30%.

Trump made the threats in a recent tweet, after China responded in kind to earlier tariffs imposed by the US government, and this has now been made official…

Apple is allowing independent repair shops to officially service iPhones

Apple announced a new scheme that will allow independent repair shops to offer official servicing of iPhones that are out of warranty. The new Independent Repair Provider Program gives small repair businesses access to the same Apple-genuine parts, training, and resources as Apple authorized service providers.

The company said it trialed the initiative at 20 stores across North America, Europe, and Asia. It is today launching the program for the United States and will announce further regions in the future.

Apple says first retail store in India 'will take us some time'

Apple is working to bring its online and brick-and-mortar retail experience to India, but creating a plan that lives up to Apple’s standards for location and design is an intensive process that can’t happen overnight. In a statement released Thursday, Apple said that plans for India’s first official Apple Store “will take us some time.”
