Apple hit with class-action lawsuit over 'unlawful and intentional recording' of Siri interactions

A report last month revealed that Apple had contractors listening to and grading Siri responses, which in turn meant that those contractors heard private conversations from users. Now, Apple has been hit with its first class-action over this practice.

Report: Instagram Direct to be rebuilt with Facebook's Messenger tech

We first heard about Facebook merging the chat features between Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger back in January and we’ve seen the start of that work with the latest Facebook app refresh. Now a report from Bloomberg says that Instagram’s chat feature will be rebuilt with Facebook Messenger’s technology.

Apple releasing iOS 13 developer beta 6 today [U]

Update: iOS 13 beta 6 and iPadOS 13 beta 6 are now available alongside watchOS 5 beta 6 and tvOS 13 beta 6. No macOS Catalina beta 6 yet.

Apple is releasing the sixth developer beta version of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 (possibly alongside new seeds of watchOS 6, tvOS 13, and macOS Catalina) today. Apple’s public beta builds should follow at a later date after the latest developer beta has been tested in the wild.

Readdle's updated PDF Expert 7 for iOS goes free, intros new PRO tier

Readdle has now updated its popular PDF Expert app for iOS. The regularly $10 app has now been updated to PDF Expert 7 and will now be FREE on the App Store. Readdle has added a PRO tier with an additional set of features for $50 per year via in-app purchases. However, according to the update notes, "all the features you used and loved are still there and improved, so you can use them as before at no extra cost."
