Senators introduce bill with 'serious financial consequences' for big tech antitrust violations

A pair of U.S. Democratic Senators have introduced a new bill that would impose harsher penalties on technology companies that engage in anticompetitive practices. The bill, dubbed the “Monopolization Deterrence Act,” was introduced by Amy Klobuchar and Richard Blumenthal.

Amazon follows in Apple's footsteps, will let users opt-out of human review of Alexa recordings

Amazon is following the precedent set by Apple and is giving users the ability to opt-out of having their Alexa voice recordings reviewed by humans. Bloomberg reports that the new policy took effect yesterday.

Facebook says it will rebrand Instagram and WhatsApp to make its ownership clearer

Facebook is planning to make its ownership of Instagram and WhatsApp more clear, the company has announced. In a statement to CNET, Facebook says that it wants “to be clearer” about which products and services are part of Facebook.
