We’ve learned more details this week about Apple Card ahead of its launch set for sometime this month. Now Apple’s bank partner, Goldman Sachs, has published the Apple Card Customer Agreement on its website with all the fine details, including a warning about jailbreaking.

Apple-Amazon deal may be illegal, is being investigated by the FTC

Apple and Amazon reached an agreement last year for the Cupertino company to sell its products directly to consumers through an official Apple store on the ecommerce site.

While the move was pitched as making more Apple products available to Amazon buyers and addressing the problem of counterfeit goods, it cut most third-party resellers out of the loop — which is the reason the FTC is reportedly now carrying out an antitrust investigation …

Apple to launch MacBooks with 5G cellular data connectivity in 2020, according to Digitimes

Apple is apparently preparing to debut its first cellular MacBook models next year, with 5G-enabled MacBooks coming in the second half of 2020 according to Digitimes.

Apple will purportedly be using a ceramic antenna component for better 5G performance.

Latest Trump tariffs could cut AAPL earnings by 4%, or slash iPhone sales

Analysts Wedbush have run the numbers on the latest Trump tariff announcement, and said that it’s bad news no matter how Apple responds.

Trump yesterday announced that the US is imposing a 10% tariff on another $300 billion worth of goods imported from China in his latest escalation of the trade war. While we’re awaiting details, the prevailing assumption is that most Apple products would be hit by this, with AAPL stock falling 2% on the news …

Apple winds down Barclaycard partnership ahead of Apple Card launch, Apple Card app reportedly coming to iPad

Apple and Barclaycard have ended the Barclaycard Apple Rewards card in the last few weeks, as it readies the Apple Card launch with Goldman Sachs. Apple now only offers basic financing plans with Barclaycard.

Bloomberg reports that the Apple Card terms allow for Apple to offer special financing plans for specific purchases. The publication also says that Apple is preparing to debut an Apple Card companion app for the iPad, to allow users to sign up and manage their card from their Apple tablet in addition to the iPhone.

Apple reviewing Siri audio grading practices, will let users opt out in future

Apple has announced in a statement that it is suspending the program which entailed human Apple contractors listening and grading a sample of Siri responses for quality control.

The company is conducting a thorough internal review of its Siri policies, and it will reinstate (a presumably different form of) Siri grading when it is finished. When Siri grading returns, users will be able to choose to opt-out of grading.
