Twitter is down this afternoon and it looks like most users can’t tweet or view their feeds for the time being. Those experiencing issues are having trouble loading the website as well as mobile apps and third-party clients not functioning.

Earlier this week, Apple announced this year’s rendition of its annual Back to School promotion. 2019’s student-focused offer delivers a free pair of Beats headphones with the purchase of iPad Air, iPad Pro, and any Mac.

Apple’s roots in education have been well-documented, but over the years its Back to School deals have lost some luster as it has gone through a series of changes. Missteps along the way, the exclusion of gift cards in favor of headphones, and more have caused Apple to miss the mark on one of its most popular first-party promotions.

Alexa hardware helping Amazon Music outpace Apple Music growth, but Apple remains ahead

Jamf adds new iOS teacher tools ahead of 2019-2020 school year

Tesla engineer admits uploading Autopilot source code to iCloud before leaving for competitor

Tesla is currently suing a former Autopilot engineer who they claim stole the source code of the autonomous driving system for a Chinese competitor, Xpeng.

Now the former employee has admitted to uploading the Autopilot source code to his iCloud at a suspicious time in his move to Xpeng, but he denies misconduct. more…

iPhones made in India now being exported to European markets, not simply sold domestically

Representing a significant milestone, some Apple iPhones manufactured in India are now being exported to countries in Europe for sale, via The Economic Times.

Initially, Apple set up iPhone manufacturing in India to avoid import taxes and allow the company to be more price-competitive in the Indian smartphone market, which is seen as a potential growth opportunity over the next few years.

Apple disables Walkie-Talkie due to exploit that could allow someone to secretly listen in without consent

Apple has disabled the Walkie-Talkie service on Apple Watch this morning, due to an unknown exploit that could have allowed a stranger to eavesdrop the Apple Watch microphone without consent.

Apple told TechCrunch it just became aware of the issue. The company says they do not believe any unscrupulous actor took advantage of the vulnerability.

Apple pushes silent macOS update to remove web server secretly installed by Zoom

Supply chain reports say Apple developing in-screen Touch ID, will ditch Face ID by 2021
