How to order takeout without stiffing local businesses

Grubhub has come under fire lately for buying up thousands of domain names and creating dummy websites for local businesses in order to claim higher commissions from its restaurant partners. The company alleges that partners agreed to this practice when they signed their contract terms, but it still feels like a sleazy move that takes advantage of small business owners who might not have known what they were agreeing to.

Senior editor Natt Garun wrote about steps people can take to order takeout ethically and support local restaurants. Often times, the easiest way is to just ask the businesses.
