Opinion: How likely are reports of Apple moving production out of China?
Ben Lovejoy - 10:35 am EDT

Nikkei report today suggested that Apple moving production out of China is under consideration as part of a ‘fundamental restructuring of its supply chain.’ The report suggests Apple’s goal could be to move as much as 15-30% of its production out of the country.

It’s not the first time we’ve heard talk of a significant shift of product assembly in other countries. Foxconn is beginning mass-production of iPhones in India at some point this year, and it recently suggested that all iPhones created for sale in the US could be made outside China.

But how realistic is the idea of shifting 15-30% of production out of China on a permanent basis?

Podcast app Castbox adds Waze support in latest update
Bradley Chambers - 10:00 am EDT

While I use Apple Maps day to day, I love Waze for car rides longer than a half hour or so. Thanks to its proactive alerts for speed traps, upcoming traffic, and debris on the road, I find it to be essential for summer traveling. One of Waze’s biggest innovations recently has been its Waze Audio Kit, a developer toolset that allows approved partners to fully integrate their apps with the Waze Audio Player.

While apps like Spotify have been on there for years, we are starting to new new apps get approved and take advantage of it. Pandora was a recent addition. Castbox, a popular podcasting app, is the latest such app to get approved to work right inside of Waze.
