Google product director annoyed by Apple's SSO jab but encourages 'Sign in with Apple' over using passwords

PBS CEO warns App Store crackdown on content for kids forcing it to pull apps

As part of its WWDC announcements last week, Apple tightened guidelines around privacy in kids’ apps in the App Store. Speaking at the Recode Code Conference yesterday, PBS president and CEO Paula Kerger said that these new guidelines from Apple mean that it will have to remove several of its apps from the App Store.

Catalyst makes Apple's latest iPad Pros beach-ready with new waterproof cases

Pride Edition Apple Watch tables return to stores featuring 2019 Sport Loop

June is Pride Month, and since 2016 Apple has shown its support in the form of special edition Apple Watch bands and later watch faces with a rainbow theme. In previous years, Apple Watch display tables in a handful of select retail stores were redecorated with a white backdrop, rainbow Apple logo, and Pride bands. This year, Apple is rolling out Pride displays to stores across the world with a new design and 2019's Sport Loop front and center.

iPhones running iOS 13 will be able to scan NFC chips in Japanese identity cards. This is as a result of Apple’s decision to allow broader access to the iPhone’s NFC chip by third-party apps.

The app will allow Japanese citizens to scan their own cards in order to store the information on their phones …

Apple says iPads helping refugee kids who've never before set foot in a school

Apple has drawn attention to an inspiring example of iPads helping refugee children, some of whom have never before set foot in a school.

In one school, there are 325 students who come from 39 different countries, many of whom have fled war in the Middle East. iPads play a key role in helping the kids overcome a fear of looking foolish in the classroom …

iOS 13 Apple Maps: Share your live route ETA with a friend

In iOS 13, integrated into the Apple Maps app on your iPhone, you can you share your journey status with personal contacts in a feature called Share ETA.

The recipient receives the address of your destination and your expected arrival time. What’s really cool about this feature is that the estimated time of arrival (ETA) will update automatically, so you can see if they hit traffic or otherwise get delayed.

Goldman CEO says employees are testing – and loving – Apple Card ahead of its summer launch

At an event yesterday, a Goldman Sachs executive explained why the bank isn’t worried about the profitability of Apple Card, despite other banks reportedly backing out of the deal over such concerns. According to a new report from The Information, Apple is in talks to buy a portion of Intel’s smartphone modem business.
