Apple publishes new support document outlining iTunes changes in macOS Catalina

We’ve gradually been learning more about Apple’s plans to transition away from iTunes on the Mac in favor of new standalone Music, Podcasts, and TV applications. This afternoon, Apple published a full support document detailing what happens to iTunes when macOS Catalina is released to the public this fall.

Apple details how offline location works in 'Find My' app, will require you own two Apple devices

One of the most intriguing changes in iOS 13 and macOS 10.15 is a merged Find My Friends and Find My iPhone application. The new app converts all of your Apple devices into Bluetooth beacons, enabling you to locate an offline device based on its proximity to any other Apple device. Now, Apple is offering up a bit more detail about the security features for the Find My application.

iOS 13 includes new Accessibility features for motion sensitivity and color blindness

This week during Apple’s WWDC sessions for developers the company showed off some new features for accessibility coming to iOS 13. These include new settings to improve app interactions for users with various motion sensitivity and color-blindness disabilities. iOS 13: 3D Touch's features come to all devices, but 3D Touch itself is on the way out

There have been rumors for a while that the iPhone 11 will not include a pressure-sensitive 3D Touch screen. iOS 13 certainly supports that direction as 3D Touch gestures in iOS 13 are effectively non-existent.

The good news is that the features provided by 3D Touch, like Peek and Pop or Home Screen Quick Actions, are now available with long-press gestures. The bad news is that owners of 3D Touch phones, i.e. all iPhones since the iPhone 6s apart from the SE and the XR, lose out on functionality that existed in previous OS versions.

Comment: Apple's $1000 monitor stand is a massive (and unnecessary) PR fail

Apple didn’t just announce a $5000 monitor during WWDC: it also announced an optional $1000 monitor stand to go with it.

There wasn’t too much reaction to the $4999 starting price of the monitor itself, or even the $1000 premium for the low-reflectivity upgrade. This is a true reference-grade monitor designed for critical color work by photographers, videographers, and filmmakers. Similar monitors typically cost upwards of $10,000, and Apple compared it to one costing $43,000.

Affinity Designer and Photo for Mac updated to version 1.7 with multi-GPU and HDR display support

China unlikely to target Apple, says Tim Cook, despite analyst concerns

Apple says mouse support in iOS/iPadOS has been in the works for years, designed for Accessibility
