How and why you should build your own mechanical keyboard

My colleague Jon Porter, who is across the pond in Verge International, has a video up today on how he made his first mechanical keyboard from scratch. He says words like "aluminium" in a British accent, schools us on how to pronounce "solder," and there's even a little ASMR section of the clickity-clack of a handcrafted, artisanal mechanical keyboard. It sounds great in the video, where it belongs, and not in an open-office plan.
