The point you probably missed in the exit polls
Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha hold the key for 2019 Lok Sabha elections and it is in these three states that exit poll data shows a wide variation in terms of seats to each contesting party.
Who will be the next finance minister?
Whoever holds the job, Modi needs a finance minister who can reinvigorate the economy without hiking debt.
If Modi loses, google these names
These Kingmakers may decide whether the Modi-led BJP or their biggest political rival, Rahul Gandhi's INC, can reach the 272 seats needed for a majority.
Someone is not worried about May 23
Even before the new government assumes power and Cabinet takes oath, the government machinery has already put in place the major plans for the day.
Watch out for these states!
May 23 may alter political positions in some states, especially those in which the governments are in a minority.
Madhya Pradesh: The BJP has claimed that the Kamal Nath-led Congress government doesn't have a majority anymore and asked governor Anandiben Patel to call a special session of the state assembly.
Tamil Nadu: The results for 22 state assembly seats along with 38 Lok Sabha seats will be out on May 23 and that could change the fate of the state government as the ruling AIADMK risks falling short of majority. AIADMK needs 4 seats for a comfortable majority, DMK needs 21 seats to unseat the ruling party.
Goa: Results of bypolls of four assembly seats that will be declared on May 23 could change the Goa assembly equations too, especially if the BJP doesn't do well.
Manipur: Naga People's Front, a partner in the BJP-led government in Manipur, said last week that it will pull out of the government (it has 4 MLAs) after the elections are over.
Manmohan Singh's record is at stake
The highest ever intraday gain honours belong to Manmohan Singh, who when he won the second term in 2009, boosted the Sensex by a record 2110.80 points. Can Modi outdo that?
