Gautam Gambhir has 2 Voter IDs. Is that bad?
Yes, it is an offence if a person has two IDs and has enrolled at two different places as a voter, provided he has done so by making false statement or declaration. Section 17 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, says no person can be enrolled as a voter in more than one constituency. If caught, the act is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or both.
Guess which caste led the NOTA vote in 2014?
