Govt panel moots changes in land laws for industry
A high-power committee headed by chief secretary of Gujarat J N Singh has proposed a series of changes in land laws that industry and the real estate sector had been demanding for a long time.

Tigress, 2 cubs sighted in Dang: NGO
Even as the tiger census is scheduled to take place in Gujarat in February after a long hiatus since 1992, an NGO involved in tiger conservation — Empower Foundation — after its survey which concluded last week, reported, “there is a very fair probability of the presence of tiger or tigress along with two cubs the region of Dang in south Gujarat.”

Pharmaceutical industry seeks subsidy dose in Union budget
As the pharmaceutical industry has to continuously upgrade to comply with changing international standards, Gujarat State Board of Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) has urged the Union government to consider a special capital-linked subsidy scheme in the Union budget 2018-19, to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
