Monkey, hare and dead kites found on runway
A team of researchers from the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research Foundation (GEER) that surveyed the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport sighted not only a monkey but also two black kites that were knocked down on the runway by aircraft on the afternoon of June 1, 2017.

Following reports of a stray cow on the Ahmedabad airport runway causing two flights to be diverted to Mumbai and delaying many others, a study by the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research Foundation (GEER) revealed that the operations area of the airport is home to at least 36 species of birds, including migratory rosy starlings, apart from animals such as monkeys, Indian grey mongoose and Indian hare.

Prisoners create self-help groups
According to the study, a majority of the convicts in cases of rape and murder were in the age group of 30-50 years. Only four out of 110 were graduates. On an average, they had passed Class 8 to Class 10.
