The Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday directed the CBI to produce the status report or the case diary pertaining to the investigation carried by the agency in the Pradhyumn Thakur murder case so far. Justice Surinder Gupta of the HC passed these orders during the hearing of bail petitions filed by Pinto family — the owners of the Ryan Group of Institutions.

Young man found dead at Danilimda police lines
Sadik Shaikh, 23, was found dead in mysterious circumstances on the premises of Danilimda police lines late on Thursday night. Shaikh used to work as a private help for senior police officers posted in different police stations and agencies. He ran errands for their personal work.

Land with Delhi since May '16 but no buses: EPCA
A day after Delhi transport minister Kailash Gahlot wrote to the Supreme Court-appointed Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) to implement the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), including the odd-even scheme, in all of NCR, EPCA chairman Bhure Lal did some plainspeaking by telling him there was no need for finger-pointing during a public health emergency. He also pointed out in his reply to Gahlot that his government hadn’t done enough to improve public transport.

Jaypee seeks 'loan' from senior execs
The senior management of Jaypee group has received forms seeking their consent for contribution of a part of their October salaries to the company as a loan. The note issued on Thursday states the company will repay the amount to them in nine equal installments starting January 2018. A company spokesperson said no such form had been issued to junior or middle-rung employees.
