		Kabaddi player among 3 killed in smog accidents Two smog-related incidents claimed the lives of three people, including a state-level kabaddi player, in UP's Ghaziabad and Haryana in the last 24 hours. Mason beaten to death for just Rs 300 Focal Point police on Sunday arrested a mason in a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, as he allegedly brutally beat up a labourer — who worked under him — for Rs300, resulting in his death. The accused was identified as Pradeep Paswan of Jagdish Colony, who works as ‘raj mistri’ (head mason) and belongs to Bihar. Water wastage: MC issued only 568 challans in 9 months While the groundwater level of this industrial town is alarmingly low, civic officials seem unaware of the fact, and despite strict orders from the local bodies department of the state government to curb water wastage, they are hardly bothered. In a reply to an RTI application, civic officials informed they had issued only 568 challans for water wastage, but recovery was made from only 211 residents. More Chandigarh News»
